Queensland Bus Industry Council
All QBIC Operator Members and Supply Partners are invited to attend:
CAIRNS - SATURDAY 19TH OF OCTOBER
LOCATION: Pullman Cairns International
QBIC Member Forums present a valuable opportunity to network with fellow operators, supply partners and
government officials within the industry. These forums serve as platforms for sharing information, fostering discussions and exploring potential solutions relevant to industry challenges and your business requirements. QBIC accomplishes this through the provision of industry updates, workshops and seminars integrated into the forum agenda.
In response to the Sex Discrimination Commissioners Respect@Work Report, the Federal Government changed the law in late 2022.
The laws have imposed a new ‘positive duty’ on all employers. This requires all employers to take reasonable steps to eliminate sexual harassment and other unlawful behaviour from occurring in the workplace. Jason O’Dwyer QBIC Executive Director will present a practical session on how employers can simply discharge their duty to ensure employers have taken all reasonable steps to eliminate sexual harassment from occurring AND responded appropriately to resolve incidents of sexual harassment if they arise.
The National Heavy Vehicle Regulator (NHVR) will also be attending to provide a presentation on the NHVR, the transition from TMR to NHVR for Heavy Vehicle services and also how the NHVR will be conducting Heavy Vehicle compliance services in Queensland.
We expect the afternoon to conclude at approximately 1:30 pm.
RSVP with details of attendees and any dietary requirements required by Thursday 3rd of October 2024 E: info@qbic.com.au or P: 07 3397 1700
