QBIC is proud to present its 26th Annual Conference, to be held on April 10–11, 2026, at the Sea World Resort, Gold Coast. This flagship event arrives at a defining moment for Queensland’s Passenger Transport Industry, which continues to experience its most significant transformation since the cessation of trams and the emergence of the omnibus as Queensland’s transport backbone in 1969. With the Queensland Government, Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR), and the National Heavy Vehicle Regulator (NHVR) each poised to deliver expansive policy agendas, the industry faces critical questions about its short, medium, and long-term future. These developments have direct implications for operators, manufacturers, suppliers, passengers, and regulators across the state. The 2026 QBIC Conference will provide an essential platform to explore the pivotal role the bus industry plays in delivering a truly integrated “one network.” Discussions will range from customer experience and behavioural trends to contract reform, fleet renewal, safety innovation, zero-emission transition, and Brisbane 2032 Olympic readiness. Importantly, we will examine how our industry serves the full spectrum of Queenslanders — from school students to our most senior and vulnerable citizens. To secure a sustainable and customer-focused transport future, collaboration will be key. Operators, industry suppliers, and all levels of government must work together with transparency and shared purpose to shape policy, embrace innovation, and deliver improved passenger outcomes.
